SegaSammy Holdings has divested itself of all interest in developer Dimps, according to this report at the AM press. SegaSammy at one time held 51% of all Dimps stock, and was actively funding the company, but now all Sammyshares are being sold back to the Dimps director. It's unclear if Osamu Satomi of Sammy will remain on at Dimps after this, ditto SNK's Takashi Nishiyama. Back in 2000, Dimps was established out of the company Sokiac, by Sammy (51%), Bandai (13%), SCE (10%) and Sega (10%). The Sega percentage was not mentioned in the report, so one wonders if there's still some vested interest for the company. Further, with Bandai's recent expansion, merging with Namco, it would be an opportune time to properly acquire the relatively successful developer. Also, all Sammy USA's arcade business and distribution (based in Chicago) has been absorbed into Sega Amusement, based in San Francisco.
