You may notice good ol' recap complaining about scanlines and improper resolition in 2D game remakes, from time to time. Well, this fellow called Tobias W. Reich has a bit of an idea for how you might combat such a problem. Essentially, force a display into the original resolution. Unfortunately, recap notes a problem in the logic. "The author did write it under a misguided assumption; that the usual native res of a "fake hi-res game" is 320 x 240, while it's not. Most emulated games on Xbox, PC, or PS2 just can't be displayed properly with his scan converter solution since they weren't upscaled proportionally to begin with. Not to mention that the graphic filters will still be there after the scanlines addition. Anyways, it's nice to see the people speaking about the subject these days." So the situation in which this should work is when the original resolution display has still been included, which is rare. But it does seem as though Tobias' fix makes things look a bit better regardless!
On semi-related note, Tobias also runs a site called Garden of War. It's an older site with a bunch of nifty old official Nintendo artwork on it, like little Icarus up there to the left.
