I hadn't heard of Majyuuou until recently - an older Super Famicom title with Castlevania leanings (though also looks a bit like Run Saber). Majyuuou (literally demon king) is a very neat looking little game, released in 1995 by KSS, with surprisingly Genesis-like use of bass in its sound. Check some youtube videos if you're skeptical. There's actually an english patch out for it as well.

While you're at it, check out the odd sprite rip page I linked earlier in the article. Lots of obscure stuff in there, especially games with monsters. Who else has Chimera Beast rips? He also has lots of pictures of vampires eating corn. To each their own!
