News: Umineko no naku koro ni details revealed

07th Expansion has opened the webpage for their upcoming sound novel, Umineko no naku koro ni. The game is a murder mystery like Higurashi, but the main challenge this time is apparently to discern whether the murderer is human or of a supernatural source, instead of trying to deduce the exact murderer.

The story is about 18 family members gathering on an isolated island to have a meeting about how to would split the property of the wealthy head of the family who is on the brink of death. A typhoon traps them on the island for 2 days and most (if not all) of them get murdered mysteriously within this short period of time.

The art has improved somewhat this time, but while fans had already started liking the horrible art in the original Higurashi, the newly improved art seems to repel many fans once again. They probably should have just used silhouettes like in Kamaitachi no Yoru...
