Joel Reed Parker (not to be confused with the Joel that posts here sometimes) at Game of the Blog has done a nice writeup of a number of interactive DVD games, whilst researching some more general FMV games, and it's worth checking out if you must know every niche. It's a pretty crazy post with lots of crazy info from Brilliant Entertainment to Hirameki, so I definitely recommend.
