IGGY the mighty wonderdog has penned an exceptional analysis of Siren. Discussed within: new-style narrative, depth of character, and actual horrific technique. Shocking, but they did it. Trouble is, due to the tactless localization, most of us will never get the full experience.

DDR Animix is an anime/game character based DDR clone for the PC (works with PC dance pads as well). They seem to have some 220 songs available, and lots of anime skins and whatnot. Looks rather nice, and the thing only costs $5 shipped for two CDs. It is customizable, since it's basically a modified Stepmania. Good stuff, give it a look.

Square Enix / TR

|
Square Enix is releasing Final Fantasy I and II for Gameboy
Advance as one cartridge for 6090 yen, according to a recent Shounen Jump article. Tim says: I have reviews of those two games here, and
here, by the way. The gist of those reviews is that the games suck, and do not stand the test of time. Squaresoft perhaps read these reviews, because they've added new random dungeons to each game. I will not review them again; however, I will gladly buy the package. Now if
they'd make a Final Fantasy IV for GBA, we'd be all set. Thanks to Crunk Games for the news.

let them expire. Nintendo and Woo will partner to release the film before
2006. Currently, Woo is developing three original games with Hollywood
talent at his Tiger Hill video game studio, and his Metroid project is
just the latest attempt in his investment into a medium which has already
borrowed much from him. Source: Hollywood Reporter.

News: The Idolmaster
|
April 4, 2004 5:15 PM PST
|
Namco / IGGY / BS
|
|
The Idolmaster is a raising/music game in which you choose one of 9 girls to produce, and turn into a star. With five minigames, you raise her dance, song, and visual stats (their costumes are customizable). There's also a conversation element, to raise her confidence, and so you can get some "memories" in movie form. After some lessons, you get a chance to make her go to TV at an audition show. She'll compete against five other girls, and if she wins, acquire some fans. The number of fans from then on determines the idol status. If you do well enough, then you can train more girls. Says iggy: "And the character designer is some famous guy whose name I can't read." Oh yes - there's a promo movie here.
Update! I neglected to mention that this game is for arcades only, thus far. There are memory cards involved, with pictures of different idols on them.
