Guyfawkes of GP32 emu has given me confirmation on my earlier supposition that the kiosk I posted a link to previously does indeed contain a small device which allows the GP32 to show on a computer moniter. I will need to be getting one of these. Soon!
For about 6 days there's been a graphic up on the Article Seezak website saying that the site is down for construction. But yesterday about midday something else was on the page:

Abogado Powers released the SM training sim game Pidgeon Blood on the 23rd as planned...but a re-release is imminent. Why? The sleeve was cut slightly too large for the plastic seal, thus wrinkling the package as seen clearly in the right-most package in this photo. Apparantly if you purchased the defective product you can return it by following the instructions herein. The re-cut package will be available starting today.
Famitsu reports that Microsoft has joined forces with local college student activists in the Enoshima area to help clean up the coast. They've set up a play area for the kids to preview some game titles, as well as pick up trash bags for the beautification effort. There will be live speakers, and other excitement at the event. Somehow I don't see 'toxic green' as the proper color of environmental clean-up, but hey...if this is the kinder, gentler Microsoft, far be it from me to deny them!
Latest info from Japanese gaming site Dengeki Online indicates that a new title has been announced by...Datam Polystar. Hey, it's not the final Capcom game, but it's something! Actually, folks might take interest in this, as the game is a Directors Cut of the PS2 sim: Roommate: Beautiful New Wife (rough translation). For the Dreamcast version, the hentai bits will be increased quite a bit, and the given example from the PS2 version will have far less steam covering up the girl you see pictured. The game also promises higher res images, more backgrounds, and an increase in, well...'amorousness' which is sure to please any fan of this genre (so it says). The Director's Cut is due out on November 21st, so if this is your kind of thing make reservations now.
At long last I've gotten in touch with Darkfader, one of the early adopters of GP32 homedev. Herein we discuss his port of Descent, the new 3D engine, software security, and the multitude of projects he's been working on for the fledgling handheld.
Insert Credit's own shmupmaster Charles Mugg has updated his personal site Dodge the Bullet with a new review/replay of the excellent Ocean shooter X2. The game is truly beautiful, especially considering that it's a 2D spritemonster on the PSX. Well worth checking out.
Relatively new to the handheld scene, the Sheffield UK company Logikstate has announced that it will develop software for the GP32. Their past work includes an audio driver and a 3D engine for GBA. The company boasts 20 man-years of industry experience, with its two members having worked on projects like SFII The New Challangers for Amiga, and Shadowman for PC/PS/DC. This is the first European company that I know of to make an official statement...more to come after ECTS I'm sure! Check Insert Credit for exclusive interviews from the show floor!

GP32news has gotten a translation of a recent Ruliweb posting which stated that sometime in the near future a patch will be released for the GP32 version of Tomak. From the look of things it seems as though Seed9 is putting back at least one of the features I complained had gone missing from the PC version. I see that the power tables are back for each character, and the between-stage images are higher resolution. It sounds like they know what they need to do to get this game back to the quality of the original...let's hope they don't screw it up!! Rest assured, once this patch is released I will disclose all.
Japanese GP32 site GP32 Chou (GP32 Notebook) mentioned an update to the Team Blaze website...namely that their homepage has been renewed. This time around however, they've included a Japanese version. Naturally that makes it much easier for us to translate it. I enlisted the help of Scott Molett, because the Japanese on this page is rather tough. He in turn had to check with some native speakers for confirmation on several issues. I've determined that due to the odd use of difficult words and strange grammar, that this was made via a translation program like babelfish. Translator's notes aside, here's what it says about the game GP Fight, Technos, plagarism, etc. Enjoy!

Tears Another is a dating sim for the GP32 with excellent character design. Check Team DTR's download page for Korean demos of Tears Contact for PC. I'd recommend downloading them all, although you probably only need the top two zip files.
This has been mentioned before, but while we're at it check out Dynamo Beast from Byulbram. This is the parent of Byulbram's 2003 release; Children of the Beast.
Due for release next year, Chetics looks like a promising cross between Battle Chess and Ogre Battle. It'll be a while before you can get the handheld version, so why not try the PC demo until then?
Funny Soccer's GP32 demo has been released, but as of today nobody on this side of the globe seems to be able to log in. So...here's the PC demo version for you. *hint* click on the words 'single mode' to get the *exe.
Last but not least...it's already been released, but most folks don't have it yet. Check the PC demo of Princess Maker 2 to determine whether or not it's worth your hard earned dollars (thanks to fx-man of GP32news for this file).

Korean animation firm Tin House has begun development of their first animated feature film Wonderful Days. The film will utilize cell art, CG and live action (miniatures) to create the very pretty stuff you're about to preview/download. Check their downloads page for some clips (the second high quality one is very highly recommended). Hint: if you can't get past the flash, try turning the music off at the top right.

Well, it seems as though our Mini-Ika challenge was met even before we began. A fellow from the TNL forums informed us that a contest had already taken place a few weeks back, wherein he himself got a high score of over 30 million. Vince reached 18 million last night (Vince: Only after checking out the forum thread myself!) ...we're trying!
...Trident is back...with a vengeance. Over at Gamers Depot, Trident VP of marketing Le Nguyen is aggressively promoting their coming XP4 processor, promising near-$400 3D performance from a $99 card. Not only that, he's also laying into big boys ATI and NVIDIA pretty fiercely:

Trident seems to have some pretty big stuff planned, and while I don't doubt that they'll have some interesting product in the future, it's hard to forget that this is the company that made the 3DImage...
Victoly! It took a while, but import Dreamcast owners now have The King of Fighters 2000 to sate their 2d fighting needs. And to think that 2k2 is just around the corner...
Don Miguel of FaMe Soft has just released two new screenshots, in addition to the one posted recently on his bbs. Keep in mind that the graphics are in a constant state of change, and they may well change from what you see here. Super Plusha is looking very nice these days...now you can really see the graphics as super deformed, compared to the earlier shots. Just a few weeks until the game is completed, but still no word on the official release date. However I do expect this to be announced at ECTS.
GamePark have release official details of Moviepark - their multimedia player for GP32. It supports MP3 audio and DivX video playback, and uses the A, B, START, SELECT and L&R shoulder buttons to mimic Play, Fast Forward, Rewind and other media player functions.
The Moviepark program itself is 850Kb, stored on your SMC. The combined data rate is 160kbps (20Kb/s) because you have to combined the video (128kbps) with the audio (32kbps). Depending on the size of your SMC and what else you have stored on it, the maximum videoclip lengths you will get are:
32Mb : 27 mins 64Mb : 54 mins 128Mb : 108 mins
Moviepark was developed for Game Park by Varovision, experienced Korean makers of handheld media devices.
The program will be available for download purchase from the Gamepark website, priced at Won 7,000 which is approx US$6. There is also an interactive web demo of Moviepark available here
I've been sitting on this one for three months and didn't know it...luckily a conversation with Fx-man of GP32news jogged my memory. Epoch GP is a new rendition of SIT's 3D mech combat game Epoch Online. However, for the GP32 the game has been transformed into a 2D sidescroller which calls the epic Ranger X for Genesis/Megadrive to mind. Check out the official press release from E3 for screens, info and exciting Korean grammatical structure! The game's high points include: three customizable mecha, armor and weapon growth systems, extensive story/dialogue, 10 bosses and 30 different enemies. Bear in mind...while this game does look very cool, these guys also make a URINE ANALYZER. More info as it comes!
Vyse and his loyal crew will apparently be put through the filteration system for the Gamecube version of Skies of Arcadia Legend according to SEGA. 'Sanitizing' the game for younger children, all scenes featuring booze, smoking, or rude language or gestures will be edited out. Whether these edits go to the American Cube version... well, know that the American Dreamcast version was edited from the original Japanese release...
